HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL - Continued
INITIAL SETUP BLOCK
The initial setup block may include up to five sections with information that is needed to prepare for and complete
the work package.
Tools and Special Tools:
This section lists all tools, special tools, and TMDE required to perform the
procedure in the work package.
Materials/Parts:
This section lists expendable materials such as grease, oil, or adhesives and includes all
mandatory replacement parts.
Personnel Required:
This section indicates how many people are required to perform the procedure in the
work package and if there is a specialty MOS required.
References:
References are listed two different ways.
a.
A publication number followed by a work package number in parenthesis; for example: TM
9-2320-425-10 (WP 0079). This indicates the reference is not found in this TM. The work package
number in the parenthesis will be the list of references work package within this TM which contains
the full name of outside publication being referenced.
b.
A work package number; for example: WP 0101. This indicates that a work package from within this
TM is needed for reference.
Equipment Condition:
This section includes a list of conditions for the equipment that must be met before
starting the procedure at hand. These conditions will mostly be other procedures within this TM that must
be performed first. The work package number will follow the statement.
WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, AND NOTES
WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTE
headings are printed in
BOLD
type. These headings indicate critical data is to
follow that ensures personnel safety, prevents damage to the equipment, and provides important information for use
during BAP procedures.
WARNING:
indicates a hazard which may result in injury or death to personnel.
CAUTION:
directs attention to usage practices that may result in damage to equipment.
NOTE:
is a statement containing information that will make the procedures easier to perform.
Carefully read and follow all WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, and NOTES before performing any procedure.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
The General Maintenance work package consists of general instructions that apply to nearly all maintenance
situations. Maintenance personnel should be familiar with these general procedures before performing the tasks
found within this TM.
CHAPTER 1: GENERAL INFORMATION
This chapter contains general characteristics, location of major components, and theory of operation for the BAP.
CHAPTER 2: OPERATOR INSTRUCTIONS
This chapter contains operator instructions for both usual and unusual conditions.
CHAPTER 3: OPERATOR TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES
This chapter contains troubleshooting procedures for the operator.
