WARNING
Never use a tire mounting/demounting machine on a bolt-
together wheel assembly. Failure to comply may result in injury
or death.
Never inflate a wheel assembly with the wheel nuts removed in
an attempt to separate inner and outer rim halves. Failure to
comply may result in injury or death.
Never inflate a wheel assembly without first checking wheel nut
torques to ensure the wheel nuts are tightened to specifications
(use a recently calibrated torque wrench). Failure to comply
may result in injury or death.
Never inflate a wheel assembly assembled with components
which are not replacement parts specified in TM 9-2320-272-24P.
Wheel assemblies without nuts, with improperly tightened
nuts, or with components not to specifications, could cause the
assembly to separate under pressure, resulting in serious injury.
CAUTION
Loosen locknuts no more than 1/2 in. (12 mm) at a time. Uneven
beadlock pressure on clamp ring may result in damage to wheel
rim studs.
4.
Remove ten locknuts (1) from wheel rim studs (5). Discard locknuts (1).
5.
Remove clamp ring (2) and wheel rim (6) from tire (4).
NOTE
Perform step 6 only if wheel rim is being replaced.
6.
Remove nut (10), grommet (9), and turret valve (8) from wheel rim (6).
7.
Remove O-ring (3) from wheel rim (6). Discard O-ring (3).
8.
Install rope on beadlock (7).
9.
Remove beadlock (7) from tire (4).
