TOOLS
EQUIPMENT CONDITION
General mechanic’s tool kit (Appendix E,
Item 1)
• Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
MATERIALS/PARTS
Two locknuts (Appendix D. Item 291)
Antiseize tape (Appendix C, Item 72)
• Air reservoirs drained (TM 9-2320-272-10).
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not disconnect air lines before draining air
reservoirs.
a. Removal
WARNING
Do not disconnect air lines before draining air reservoirs. Small
parts under pressure may shoot out with high velocity, causing
injury to personnel.
NOTE
Tag air lines for installation.
1.
Disconnect two air lines (9) from elbows (8).
2.
Remove two elbows (8) from air supply valve (10).
3.
Remove pin (3) from button (4).
4.
Remove button (4), nut (5), and air supply valve (10) from mounting bracket (6).
5.
Remove two locknuts (2), screws (7), and mounting bracket (6) from instrument panel (1). Discard
locknuts (2).
b. Installation
1.
Install mounting bracket (6) on instrument panel (1) with two screws (7) and new locknuts (2).
NOTE
Wrap all male pipe threads with antiseize tape before installation.
2.
Install air supply valve (10) on mounting bracket (6) with nut (5) and button (4).
3.
Install pin (3) on button (4).
4.
Install two elbows (8) on air supply valve (10).
5.
Connect two air lines (9) to elbows (8).
