MATERIALS/PARTS

Air reservoirs drained (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Locknut (Appendix D, Item 291)
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Locknut (Appendix D, Item 299)
Do not disconnect air lines before draining air
Antiseize tape (Appendix C, Item 72)
reservoirs.
a. Removal (Forward-Rear Axle Doublecheck Valve)
WARNING
Do not disconnect air lines before draining air reservoirs. Small
parts under pressure may shoot out with high velocity, causing
injury to personnel.
NOTE
Tag air lines for installation.
1.
Disconnect air line (10) from adapter (11).
2.
Disconnect two air lines (1) from elbows (2).
3.
Remove two elbows (2) from doublecheck valve (8).
4.
Remove switch (3) and adapter (11) from tee (9).
5.
Remove tee (9) from doublecheck valve (8).
6.
Remove locknut (4), washer (5), doublecheck valve (8), and screw (7) from frame rail (6). Discard
locknut (4).
b. Installation (Forward-Rear Axle Doublecheck Valve)
1.
Install doublecheck valve (8) on frame rail (6) with screw (7), washer (5), and new locknut (4).
NOTE
Wrap all male pipe threads with antiseize tape before installation.
2.
Install tee (9) on doublecheck valve (8).
3.
Install adapter (11) and switch (3) on tee (9).
4.
Install two elbows (2) on doublecheck valve (8).
5.
Connect two air lines (1) to elbows (2).
6.
Connect air line (10) to adapter (11).
