EQUIPMENT CONDlTlON

General mechanic’s tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)

• Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).

MATERIALS/PARTS

• Troop seat and side rack removed

(TM 9-2320-272-10).

Five locknuts (Appendix D, Item 288)

NOTE

• All troop seats and sideracks are replaced the same. This

procedure covers the right side only.

• Assistant will help when necessary.

a. Troop Seat Disassembly

1.

Remove five locknuts (7), screws (8), and legs (6) from channels (3). Discard locknuts (7).

2.

Remove eight nuts (5), screws (2), and four hinges (4) from channels (3).

3.

Remove twelve nuts (9), screws (1), and five channels (3) from four boards (10).

b. Siderack Disassembly

1.

Remove eight nuts (14), screws (16), and five pockets (15) from board (18).

2.

Remove two nuts (13), washers (12), screws (17), and retainers (11) from board (18).

c. Siderack Assembly

1.

Install two retainers (11) on board (18) with two screws (17), washers (12), and nuts (13).

2.

Install five pockets (15) on board (18) with eight screws (16) and new nuts (14).

d. Troop Seat Assembly

1.

Install five channels (3) on four boards (10) with twelve screws (1) and nuts (9).

2.

Install four hinges (4) on channels (3) with eight screws (2) and nuts (5).

3.

Install five legs (6) on channels (3) with five screws (8) and new locknuts (7).
