c. Assembly
1.
Install breather (25) on steering pump (2).
2.
Install new woodruff key (26). Press pulley (1) on pump shaft (29) and install washer (27) and new
springtite (28).
3.
Install mounting bracket (17) on engine bracket (21) with two washers (22), new lockwashers (23),
and screws (24).
d. Installation
1.
Install adjusting link (11) on mounting bracket (17) with washer (12), screw (13), washer (10), and
new locknut (9).
2.
Install adjusting link (11) on engine (20) with washer (15) and screw (14).
3.
Install steering pump (2) on mounting bracket (17) with three new lockwashers (19) and screws (18).
NOTE
• Do not reuse hydraulic oil.
• Remove all caps and plugs prior to installation.
4.
Install return hose (5) on return tube (3) with clamp (4).
5.
Install high-pressure return hose (6) on high-pressure fitting (8) and tighten nut (7).
FOLLOW-ON TASKS: • Install and adjust steering pump drivebelts (para. 3-230).
• Fill power steering reservoir to proper level (LO 9-2320-272-12).
• Start engine (TM 9-2320-272-10), check hoses for leaks and steering for proper
operation.
