EQUlPMENT CONDITION
MATERIALS/PARTS
• Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
• Winch chain and hook removed from front
Three locknuts (Appendix D, Item 321)
shackles (TM 9-2320-272-10) (winch models only).
NOTE
• Replacement of front and rear shackles are the same, except
rear shackles do not use washers. This procedure covers the
front shackle.
• On M936/A1 model vehicles the long screw attaching each front
shackle has an additional washer between anchor and locknut.
1.
Remove retaining clip (12), S-hooks (1) and (13), and chain (14) from shackle pin (2).
2.
Remove shackle pin (2) and shackle (3) from shackle bracket (6).
3.
Remove two locknuts (10), screws (4), locknut (9), long screw (5), pipe coupling (8), shackle
bracket (6), and washer (7) from bumper (11). Discard locknuts (10) and (9).
b. Installation
1.
Install washer (7) and shackle bracket (6) on bumper (11) with long screw (5), pipe coupling (8),
new locknut (9), two screws (4), and new locknuts (10).
2.
Install shackle (3) on shackle bracket (6) with shackle pin (2).
3.
Install retaining clip (12), S-hooks (1) and (13), and chain (14) on shackle pin (2).
