EQUIPMENT CONDITION
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Keep fire extinguisher nearby when using
drycleaning solvent.
a. Removal
1.
Remove cotter pin (13) from slotted nut (14). Discard cotter pin (13).
2.
Remove slotted nut (14), washer (15), and pintle hook (12) from mounting bracket (16).
b. Disassembly
1.
Remove two grease fittings (7) from screw (9) and latch shaft (6).
2.
Remove drive pin (101, chain (11), and cotter pin (8) from pintle hook (12) and latch (5). Discard
cotter pin (8).
3.
Remove cotter pin (1), slotted nut (2), screw (9), and latch (5) from pintle hook (12). Discard cotter
pin (1).
4.
Remove latch shaft (6), latch lock (3), and spring (4) from latch (5).
c. Cleaning and Inspection

WARNING
Drycleaning solvent is flammable and toxic. Do not use near an
open flame and always have a fire extinguisher nearby when
solvents are used. Use only in well-ventilated places, wear
protective clothing, and dispose of cleaning rags in approved
container. Failure to do this may result in injury to personnel
and/or damage to equipment.
Clean pintle hook (12), latch (5), latch lock (3), latch shaft (6), and screw (9) with drycleaning
solvent.
Inspect pintle hook (12), latch (5), latch lock (3), latch shaft (6), and screw (9) for bends, cracks, and
breaks. Replace any damaged parts.
