Install bracket (10) in soft-jawed vise facing up.

NOTE

l

Perform step 12 if pipe or fitting was removed.

l

Wrap all male pipe threads with antiseize tape before

installation.

Install pipe (8) and fitting (9) on bracket (10).

Install spacer (11) on shaft (7).

Install pulley (6) on shaft (7) with drive pins (12) facing up.

Align clutch facing (5) with drive pins (12). and install housing (13) on pulley (6).

Install new top spacer (4) on shaft (7) with flat side facing up.

Install new spring washer (14) on shaft (7) with crown side of spring washer (14) facing up.

Install new locknut (3) on shaft (7). Tighten locknut (3) 65 lb-ft (88 N•m).

NOTE

Coat O-rings with GAA grease before installation.

Install new O-rings (2) and (15) on top and bottom grooves of new cap (1).

Place prybar between studs (16) to prevent housing (13) from turning, and install cap (1) on

housing (13). Tighten cap (1) 40 lb-ft (54 N•m).

Install fan clutch (para. 3-74).

Start engine (TM 9-2320-272-10).

Run engine until coolant temperature reaches 175-195°F (79-91°C).

Place cardboard in front of radiator core until engine temperature reaches 200°F (93°C).

If fan does not engage when engine temperature reaches 200°F (93°C), refer to mechanical

troubleshooting.
