For inspection and repair of front wiring harness, refer to para. 3-131.

Tag wires and connectors for installation.
Remove nut (4), lockwasher (3), and wire (6) from solenoid (1). Discard lockwasher (3).
Remove nut (8), lockwasher (7), battery cable (10), and wire (9) from solenoid (1). Discard
lockwasher (7).
Remove nut (5), lockwasher (2), and wire (12) from starter (16). Discard lockwasher (2).
Remove nut (13), lockwasher (ll), and wires (14) and (15) from starter (16).
Remove two screw-assembled lockwashers (32) and terminal cover (31) from alternator (26). Discard
screw-assembled lockwashers (32).
NOTE
Sealing compound must be removed from wiring before removing wires.
Disconnect wire (34) from lead (35).
Remove screw (36), lockwasher (37), and wire (38) from alternator (26). Discard lockwasher (37).
Remove nut (28), lockwasher (27), and wire (39) from alternator (26). Discard lockwasher (27).
Remove nut (30), lockwasher (29), and wire (33) from alternator (26). Discard lockwasher (29).
Remove screw (51), clamp (52), and front wiring harness (50) from engine block (40).
Remove screw (46), washer (45), ground strap (44), and ground wires (43), (42), and (41) from engine
block (40).
Remove screw (48), washer (47), clamp (49), and wiring harnesses (50) and (53) from engine block (40).
Disconnect wire (25) from coolant temperature sending unit (24).
