• Torque rods (lower) removed (para. 3-170).
EQUIPMENT CONDITION
• Rear springs removed (para. 3-167).
• Spring seat removed (para. 3-169).
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Weight of vehicle must be supported on jack stands
at all times.
WARNING
Weight of vehicle must remain supported on jack stands at all
times. Do not attempt to support weight of vehicle on hydraulic
jack. Injury to personnel may result if hydraulic jack fails.
Remove eight locknuts (4), screws (2), and cross tube (3) from two rear axle bogie supports (1). Discard
locknuts (4).
b. Installation
Install cross tube (3) on two rear axle bogie supports (1) with eight screws (2) and new locknuts (4).
Tighten locknuts (4) 1,200-1,300 lb-ft (1,627-1,763 N•m).
