Apply a generous amount of GAA grease to bearing race inside of cover (15) and install forty-four

bearing rollers (14) in side cover (15).

Install steel backup washer (13), new retaining ring (12), and new two-piece seal (11) in steering

gear side cover (15) with seal retainer (16).

Apply clean GAA grease to short bearing end of sector shaft (17) and place in side cover (15).

NOTE

Adjusting screw has left-hand threads.

Install sector shaft adjusting screw (18) counterclockwise through side cover (15) and into sector

shaft (17).

Loosen adjusting screw (18) one turn clockwise to permit sector shaft (17) to turn freely in side

cover (15).

Thread jamnut (19) a few turns onto adjusting screw (18).
