Remove six screw-assembled washers (8), housing cover (9), and gasket (10) from automatic brake
housing (2). Discard gasket (10). Clean gasket remains from mating surfaces.
16.
Remove adjusting screw (16), washer (15), and O-ring (14) from housing (2). Discard O-ring (14).
17.
Remove brake band (7) and spring (11) from brake housing (2). Discard brake band (7).
NOTE
Assistant will help with step 18.
18.
Remove screw (6), lockwasher (12), washer (5) and, using a puller, remove brake drum (13) from
input shaft (20). Discard lockwasher (12).
19.
Scribe alignment marks (21) at mating surfaces of gearcase (1) and brake housing (2) for
installation.
20.
Remove four screws (4), lockwashers (3), brake housing (2), and gasket (18) from gearcase (1).
Discard lockwashers (3 ) and gasket (18). Clean gasket (18) remains from mating surfaces.
21.
Remove seal (17) from brake housing (2). Discard seal (17).
22.
Remove woodruff key (19) from worm gear shaft (20). Discard woodruff key (19).
