Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
l
Hood raised and secured (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Two locknuts (Appendix D, Item 313)
Two locknuts (Appendix D, Item 283)
Lockwasher ( Appendix D, Item 368)
1.
Loosen screw (1) and remove control cable (10) from nut (2) on pressurization valve (3).
2.
Remove two locknuts (11), screws (4), clamp (5), and control cable (10) from fording cable bracket (6).
Discard locknuts (11).
3.
Remove nut (16) and lockwasher (17), and slide down control cable (10).
4.
Pull hand control (14) and control cable (10) from instrument panel (15) and grommet (12) in
firewall (13), and remove nut (16) and lockwasher (17) from control cable (10). Discard
lockwasher (17).
5.
Remove two locknuts (9), screws (7), and fording cable bracket (6) from surge tank mounting
bracket (8). Discard locknuts (9).
1.
Install fording cable bracket (6) on surge tank mounting bracket (8) with two screws (7) and new
locknuts (9).
2.
Insert control cable (10) and hand control (14) through instrument panel (15), new lockwasher (17),
nut (16), and grommet (12) in firewall (13), and tighten nut (16).
3.
Install control cable (10) on fording cable bracket (6) with clamp (5), two screws (4), and new
locknuts (11).
4.
Install control cable (10) in nut (2) on pressurization valve (3), and tighten screw (1).
