Install inner adjusting nut (11) with machined surface against outer bearing (10).

Tighten inner adjusting nut (11) 200 lb-ft (271.2 N•m).

Loosen inner adjusting nut (11) and retighten to 50 lb-ft (67.8 N•m). Hub should turn easily.

Back off inner nut (11) 1/8 turn.

Install tanged lockwasher (12).

Install outer adjusting nut (13) and tighten to 250 lb-ft (339 N•m).

Bend one lockwasher tang (14) over one flat of each adjusting nut (11 and 13).

Soldier A and Soldier B install wheel hub (5) and drum (4) on axle spindle (2).

Pack outer bearing (10) with grease and install.

NOTE

One adjusting nut has a machined surface.

Install wheel and tire (TM 9-2320-279-10)

Uncage rear brake chambers (TM 9-2320-279-10).
