Ensure PTO area is clear of personnel and obstructions before engaging PUMP
PTO switch.
Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel and/or
damage to equipment.

CAUTION
Engage PTO before engaging high idle.
Engine must be at idle before engaging
PTO.
Failure to comply will result in damage to PTO and/or truck transmission.

Step 5.
Install reflective tape on PTO shaft.
Start engine (TM 9-2320-422-10).
Put PTO switch
to on position (WP 0004).
Use photosensor tachometer to check if PTO rpm is between
990 to 1010 rpm at idle.
While an assistant puts HIGH IDLE switch to ON position
(WP 0004), use photo tachometer to check if PTO rpm is between 1750 to 2138 rpm at
high idle.

If PTO rpm is between 990 to 1010 rpm at idle and 1750 to 2138 rpm at
high idle, notify Supervisor.

b.
If PTO rpm is not between 990 to 1010 rpm at idle and 1750 to 2138
rpm at high idle, replace PUMP PTO (WP 0153).
