DRIVE SHAFT AND UNIVERSAL JOINT REPLACEMENT/REPAIR (CONT)

(2.1)Tighten four screws (5) to 26-35 lb-ft (35-47 N•m).

Tighten four screws (5).

(3.1)Tighten four screws (5) to 26-35 lb-ft (35-47 N•m).

(3.2)Fold tabs on four screws (5).

Deleted.

Apply lubrication to grease fittings (1).

(6)

Perform steps (1) through (5) on opposite end of

drive shaft (3).

CAUTION

NOTE

Perform the following step on kits equipped

with screws P/N C5H5-24-39.

Grease must flow from all four seals.

Failure

to comply may result in damage to

equipment.

NOTE

•

Perform the following step on kits

equipped with shearhead screws.

•

Alternately tighten screws.

•

When correct torque is reached, bearing

cap screw small hex head will break off.

NOTE

Perform the following two steps on bearing

cups equipped with tabs.
