(51) Remove preformed packing (62) from gear end cover

(6). Discard preformed packing.

(52) Remove 90-degree fitting (63) and safety valve (64) from

gear end cover (6).

(53) Remove plugs (22 and 65) from gear end cover (6).

(54) Remove two preformed packings (66) from plugs (22 and

65). Discard preformed packings.

(55) Remove input shaft (67) from primary gear (68).

WARNING

Use care when removing retaining rings.

Retaining rings are under tension and can

act as projectiles when released. Failure

to

comply

may

result

in

injury

to

personnel.

(56) Remove retaining ring (69) from input shaft (67).

(57) Remove thrust washer (70) from primary gear (68).

(58) Remove sun gear (71) from primary gear (68).

(59) Remove primary gear (68) from ring gear (49).
