b. Installation.

NOTE

Left and right side counterbalance valves are

installed the same way. Left side shown.

(1) Install preformed packing (1) on 90-degree fitting (2).

(2) Position 90-degree fitting (2) in counterbalance valve (3).

(3) Install preformed packing (4) on 90-degree fitting (5).

(4) Position 90-degree fitting (5) in counterbalance valve (3).

(5) Install preformed packing (6) on 90-degree fitting (7).

(6) Position 90-degree fitting (7) in counterbalance valve (3).

(7) Position counterbalance valve (3) on underlift assembly

(8) with two screws (9), washers (10), and self-locking

nuts (11).

(8) Tighten two self-locking nuts (11) to 23-25 lb-ft (31-34

N m).

(9) Position hose (12) on 90-degree fitting (2).

(10) Position hose (13) on 90-degree fitting (7).

(11) Tighten jamnut (14) on 90-degree fittings (2 and 7).

(12) Tighten hose (12) to 18-20 lb-ft (24-27 N·m).

(13) Tighten hose (13) to 35-39 lb-ft (47-53 N·m).
