FORWARD CLUTCH AND TURBINE SHAFT MAINTENANCE (Contd)

REMOVAL

1.

Remove forward clutch and housing assembly (1) from transmission (3).

2.

Remove thrust washer (2) from forward clutch and housing assembly (1).

DISASSEMBLY

1. Locate gap (5) in snapring (6) through cutout in clutch housing (7).

2. Insert a small screwdriver through cutout in clutch housing (7), nearest to gap (5) in snapring (6),

and press snapring (6) into groove of clutch housing (7).

3. Insert a piece of shim stock (8) between snapring (6), PTO gear (4), and clutch housing (7).

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for inserting remaining shim stock (8) approximately 5 in. (127 mm) apart.

5. Remove PTO gear (4), snapring (6), and shim stock (8) from clutch housing (7).

6. Remove seal ring (10) from turbine shaft (9). Discard seal ring (10).

7. Remove snapring (11) from clutch housing (7).

8. Remove fourth clutch driving hub (12) and forward clutch hub (13) from clutch housing (7).

9. Remove thrust bearing race (14), bearing (15), and thrust bearing race (16) from clutch housing (7)

or forward clutch hub (13).
