a. General.
Air cleaner service is required when yellow air restriction indicator (3)
reaches red zone (2) of gauge (1).
CAUTION
Do not operate engine without air cleaner element. Damage to engine
may result.
b. Filter Element Removal.

Raise and secure hood (para. 3-9).
NOTE
Perform step 2.1 for vehicles with new over-center clamp
configuration only.

Loosen clamp screw (10) and remove clamp (4) and cover (5) from air
cleaner assembly (8).

Release and remove over-center clamp (4) and cover (5) from air cleaner
assembly (8).
3-15. AIR CLEANER SERVICING (EMERGENCY PROCEDURE)
3-14. SERVICING WINDSHIELD WASHER RESERVOIR
a.
Raise and secure hood (para. 3-9).
b.
Check fluid level in washer reservoir (2). Check frequently under adverse
weather conditions.
c.
If fluid is required, fill washer reservoir with water and cleaning compound
(appendix D, item 4), refer to table 3-2.

If washer system does not work, check washer nozzles (1) to see if they are
blocked with dirt and/or debris. Remove dirt and/or debris with fine wire.

Check hoses (3) for leaks or poor condition.
