Check drums for cracking, heat

discoloration, grooving, elongated bolt

holes, out-of-round or worn beyond

re-bore limit on drum.

Drum is cracked,

severely over-

heated, has

elongated holes, or

is out-of-round.

CAUTION

Tap sensor to tone ring

using a wood rod only.

A metal rod will damage

components.

NOTE

This should be checked

every 36,000 miles or

triennially, whichever period

is shorter.

touching tone ring, or have a gap of no

more than 0.040 in. (1.02 mm) between

the tone ring and pickup end.

brackets. Replace bushings.
