Wheel bearings

CAUTION

Use of excessive amount of grease when lu-

bricating wheel bearings may result in grease

contacting brake linings and cause brake fail-

ure. Possible injury or death to personnel and

damage to equipment may result.

NOTE

Wipe up excess grease to avoid contamina-

tion of brake linings.

Clean and inspect all wheel bearings (Figure 1, Item 2).

Lubricate or replace wheel bearings as required

(WP

0092).

Wheel bearings or axle

ends are damaged.

Lubricate bearings with GAA (WP

0193, Table 1, Item

33, 34, 35, 36, 37) every 12,000 miles (19,308 km) or

biennially, whichever comes first. If axle ends (Figure 1,

Item 1) show damage, notify supervisor.
