This section has important information on how the major components that make up a carrier operate. You’ll be working on
these com ponents, and gaining an u nderstanding o f just h ow each relates to the other and how
they
will help y ou solve m any
maintenance problems.
Study this information and its illustrations closely. It will help you to know the major components and their parts.
There are three major integrated components used in all of the vehicles. These three major components are:
Power plant components
Differential
Tracks and su spension
Special purpose kits, when installed, provide their own integrated components. Integration of these kits is described in
their respective chapters.
