REPLACE TRANSMISSION OIL FILTER AND DRAIN — Continued

CLEAN, INSPECT, AND REPAIR

1.

Clean transmission oil filter element cavity with cleaning compound.

2.

Check cover and strap. Replace or repair cover or strap that is cracked or bent.

3.

Check plug and screw. Replace plug or screw that has stripped threads.

INSTALLATION

1.

Install new preformed packing (1), new element (2), and new preformed packing (3) in transmission (4).

2.

Install retainer (5), spring (6), cover (7), and strap (8) on transmission (4). Secure with screw (9) and nut (10).

3.

Install new gasket (11) and drain plug (12) in transmission (4).

4.

Fill transmission with oil (WP 0120 00)

FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS

WARNING

Carbon monoxide is poisonous and can kill you. Do not idle engine with bottom access cover

and power plant access panels off unless there is ADEQUATE VENTILATION.

1.

Connect differential oil pump hose (WP 0354 00).

2.

Start engine (see your -10). Check for leaks.

3.

Stop/shutdown engine (see your -10).

4.

Install hull bottom access cover (WP 0434 00).

5.

Install driver’s power plant access panel (WP 0430 00).
