REPLACE PERSONNEL SEATS, BACKRESTS, CUSHIONS, AND STRAPS

(M113A2 ONLY) — Continued

REMOVAL

NOTE

There are four seats and two backrests in the M113A2. Remove and install all seats and

backrests the same way.

1.

Remove two locknuts (1), screws (2), and backrest (3) from sponson brackets. Discard locknuts.

2.

Remove four cotter pins (4), washers (5), two straight pins (6), and seat (7) from sponson brackets. Discard cotter pins.

3.

Remove four cotter pins (8), two straight pins (9), and two legs (10) from seat (7). Discard cotter pins.

4.

Remove two locknuts (11), washers (12), screws (13), and seatbelt (14) from each position on seat (7). Discard locknuts.

5.

Remove two straps (15) and cushion (16) from seat (7).

NOTE

There are two straps on the long backrest and one strap on the short backrest. On the M113A2

with external fuel tanks, remove strap from fuel tank support.

6.

If needed, remove rivet (17), washer (18), and strap (19) from backrest (3). Discard rivet.
