Position PDA mounting template (4) on roof of vehicle 17.25 ± 0.12 in. (43.82 ± 0.30 cm) from roadside forward beam

and approximately 14 in. (35.56 cm) from roadside wall (see illustration below). Mark location for four standoffs (2).

Remove template.

WARNING

Chemical agent resistant coating (CARC) paint contains isocyanate (HDI) which is highly

irritating to skin and respiratory system. High concentractions of HDI can cause itching and

reddening of skin, a burning sensation in throat and nose, and watering eyes. In extreme

concentrations, HDI can cause coughing, shortness of breath, pain during breathing, increased

sputum production, and chest tightness. The following precautions must be taken whenever

using CARC paint:

DO NOT grind or sand CARC-painted equipment without high-efficiency

air purifying respirators in use.

NEVER weld or cut CARC-painted materials.

BE AWARE of CARC paint exposure symptoms, which can occur a few days after intial

exposure. Seek medical help immediately if symptoms are detected.

Remove paint from area marked for welding of standoffs (2).

NOTE

Do not weld template to standoffs.

Reposition assembled PDA mounting template (4) and four standoffs (2) and weld standoffs in place. See TC 9-237 and

Welding Code 12472301. Remove template.
