d. Emergency Shutdown

WARNING

In the event of an emergency shutdown, DO NOT TOUCH the heater until it has had sufficient

time to cool. The heat exchanger remains at full temperature and the heater will not have

completed a purge cycle, both of which pose a safety hazard.

In the event of an unsafe condition, and the heater does not automatically shutdown or respond to the manual

shutdown procedure, and an emergency shutdown is required, perform the following sequence:

Disconnect the power circuit breaker to the heater.

2

Disconnect the heater power by detaching the MS power connection from the heater.

Manual Purge

1

Move START/OFF/RUN switch (1) to OFF position.

Move START/OFF/RUN switch (1) on heater control box (2) momentarily to START position for at least

10 seconds, then to OFF. This will allow heater to purge. (This will take approximately four minutes.)
