To avoid injury to personnel, do not open breech.
If weapon still fails to fire, evacuate personnel.
Wait 2 hours, then proceed as follows.
(a) Remove primer and propelling charge.
(b) Place waste in chamber.
(c) Close breech.
(d) Lock cannon in a traveling position.
(e) Carefully move weapon to remote location.
To prevent injury to personnel, do not attempt to remove projectile.
Request EOD or unit maintenance personnel to remove projectile or to remove cannon with seated
projectile. If EOD removes projectile using water and explosion charge method, DS/GS maintenance
must be requested to certify condition and serviceability of cannon tube, prior to any further firing from
cannon tube. Once projectile is removed, EOD is responsible for its evacuation and disposition.
Duds
Do not touch, move, or otherwise handle duds. Their fuzes may be armed. Have duds destroyed
in place by authorized personnel only,
