2-17.5 Fire Extinguishers
a. Fixed Fire Extinguisher Handles
To avoid injury, turn off engine when extinguishing fires. The fire extinguisher doesn’t work
properly while the engine is running.

Stop vehicle. Shut off engine and turn MASTER switch (1) to OFF.
To avoid injury, all personnel must exit vehicle during fire extinguishing efforts.
2 Pull either internal fire extinguisher handle (2) or external fire extinguisher handle (3) to expel carbon
dioxide into the engine compartment, forcing out the air and putting out the fire.
NOTE
Internal fire extinguisher handle is located
to rear of driver’s compartment.
NOTE
External fire extinguisher handle is located to left of driver’s hatch cover.
