2-17.7 External Power Receptacle (M109A4/M109A5 Howitzers)

Make sure all power is off before connecting or disconnecting cables to prevent electrical shock.

Do not slave start vehicle using external power receptacle. Damage to equipment will occur if

caution is not observed.

Connect external power cable (1) to external power receptacle (2) on M109A4/M109A5 howitzers and to

auxiliary power unit (APU),

Start APU in accordance with appropriate technical manual.

Check operation of electrical system in howitzer.

Stop APU in accordance with appropriate technical manual.

Remove external power cable (1) from APU and from external power receptacle (2) on M109A4/M109A5

howitzers.
