General mechanic’s tool kit (item 64, Appx H)

Multimeters (item 36, Appx H)
TA-1 probe kit (item 43, Appx H)
(Long test leads may be needed for some tests;
Transmission left access door open (TM 9-2350-311-10)
16 AWG wire may be used as an extension.)
Air intake grille open (TM 9-2350-311-10)
WARNING
If flammable vapors are present, do not perform step
A. Performance of step A could cause fire or
explosion.
Do not touch coil assembly or air box heater while
performing step A. High voltage is present and
personal injury may result.
Fuel is hazardous waste and must be disposed of in
accordance with local procedures or direction of the
local Hazardous Waste Management office.
NOTE
Use a container to catch any fuel that may flow out of the
input and/or output hoses during the following steps.
Disconnect air box heater fuel input hose.
Remove air box heater with coil assembly to
.
air box heater lead attached (para 5-8).
3. Place a jumper wire from air box heater to
ground.
4. Turn MASTER and FLAME HEATER
switches ON.
5. Check for electric arc between electrode
and wire in air box heater. Arc should be
steady with a crackling sound.
6. Turn MASTER and FLAME HEATER
switches OFF.
