Slide variable recoil housing (17) forward along cannon tube and remove.

Level cannon assembly to avoid serious injury to personnel or damage to equipment caused by

cannon assembly sliding out of battery.

Remove and discard cotter pin (18).

While holding shouldered shaft collar (19) with pipe wrench, remove rear slotted nut (20) from recuperator

assembly.
