Dear Editor,
Until we figured out a solution± we
ofTen had a probLem with rain getting
into the engine air cleaner canisters
on our 2'-ton multifuel trucks. Be²
cause of the position of the air intake
hood, even a s³ght wind wouLd drive
the rain in´ And it was even worse
when the engine was running and
sucking in the waterµ
With the filter element water¶
logged; the engine was starved for air·
So performance was cut tremendous¶
ly and more unbuRed fuel was ex¶
hausted¸
We reMounTed The air intake hood so it¹s better protectedµ Aº it takes is a

cents from a heating or
air conditioning supply house) and

manHour labor for each insta¼ationµ
½his improvement is simpLe¾ inexpensive and easy· And now the fIters
remain dry¿rain or shine, wash job or whateverµ
