Any Chinook (CH-47) mech who removes the adapter and plate assembly

along with the suppoR assembly, from the synchronizing shafT has a job
on his hands. ²he shaft is usuaLy clamped in a vise and it can be damaged
bey³nd repair limits.
²o save some moo/a, ´e came up with an adapter and plate assembly
holding toolµ
To use the tool, remove the
unRveted %-in bolt from the aDapter
assembLy. PLace the

Large hoLes in
the tool over the speciaL washers
in the
2
±iveted BoltS.
²iNe up the %³in hoLe in the tooL
with the hole in the adapte± assembLy
whe±e the bolt was ±emoved. ´epLace
the Bolt and nut to hoLd the tooL onto
the adapter.
WhiLe yoU rest±ain the assemBLy
with the instALled µool, yOu can LooSen
the ±etaininG nut with a standard
Y-
in drive extension¶
