A gap between the wasHer and tHe
grip means the washer is upside down.
THe washer is bottoming on the shank
of the bolt, giving you aLl sorts of extra
fatigue forces acting on the hub.
So, if you spot a washer Murphy,
remove the nut and turn tHe washer
around. MaKe with tHe torque wrench
when you put the nut back.
'Course, the washer is installed right when there is no gap between
the wasHer and grip.
And .
.. whenever you Put blades on your baby, make sure the counterbore
iN tHe wasHer faces "up±, so the torque on tHe nut Bears against the grip.

T²ere is no drain to remove trapped water. You know what happens when
water and magnesium meet? CorrosiOn, that wilL actually eat thru the bottom
of the reservoir!
Any bListering of the paint, or dark spots when you remove the paint, wiLL
cLue you that the reservoir has just about had it. A Lea³ing reservoir is in your
immediate future.
There´s only one way to save the reservoirs-hand clean ´em with a cloth .
