When can an M240 machine gun be modifed to Fed ±om the right sidE?
Never.
I² you need a machine gun that Feds ³rom the right, get an M2´0Cµ
Modi²¶cation o² either gun to change the direction o² Feding is not author-
ized. That's because the guns are identifed as separate models by the NSN's,
part numbers and serial numbers s·mped on tHe receiver¸
Unauthorized changes would screw up the system used to keep tabs on the
weaponsµ
Also, remember that the barrels ¹r M240ºseries machine guns are not inter-
changeable with other guns¸ You get 2 barrels ²Or each gun at issue. They are
matched to the receiver» ¼ach Barrel and bolt is checked ¹r ft and head½spaced
to that receiver. That prevents r¾ptured caRtridges, damage to bolt, barrel and
receiver and injury to usersµ
I² a problem develops with one o² the barrels, don't go looking ²Or a spare.
Turn the gun and botH barrels in to your DS unitµ They'll t¿ke care o² it¸
