If you've noticed increased wear
mostly on the inner roadwheels on your
tRackED vehicle, there're a couple Things
you need to check out.
TCK tENSION:
If it's too
tigHt, the track will bind± As it binds,
it puTs more pressure on the inner road-
wheel than on the outer one. ²He wear
will appear uneven across the Fce of
the roadwheel.
²o T³ke care of tHe problem, make
sure track tension is set accordinG to
your vehicles's ´10 ²M.
ROADAr ALiEMENt:
A
bent or distoµed roadarm will put extra
pressure on a roa¶wheel, causing it to
wear quicker than its mate. Of course,
if the distortion is great enougH, the
centerguides will beat a Tattoo on the
roadwheel or you'll throw tr³ck a lot.
²o solve the problem, Get your
mecHanic to check out the suspect
roadarm. If it's bent, he'll Have it
replaced.
Don't Get Caught in the Middle
Slave sTarting combat ve·cles will be
a whole lot sa¸r f¹r you if you
remember to not get caught in the
º»iddle.
BetWeen vehicles, that is.
²hat means you never slave start
veHicles ¼ont to ¼ont. ½epen¾inG on
the vehicle, you either:
±
Park tHe live vehicle beside tHe
dead one, wiTh both vehicles headed in
the same direction±
Park the live veHicle beside the
dead one, headed in the opposite
direction.
Park the live veHicle in ¼ont of and
at rigHt angles to the dead one.
In any case, you don't sTand between
vehicles during a slave start± It could
be your middle tHat gets caught.
