W¿ÀdÁ ÂN fIÃj;.
You won't get very fr in your M 113-series carrier iF your road wheel hubs
are low on lube.
That's why checking the hub sight glass aFter every operation is part oF the
PMCS. But, there's a little bit oF con±sion betWeen what TM 9²2300²257²10
says and what the LO schedules.
Your PMCS says check to see that there is either grease or oil in the hub.
That's pret³ easy iF your carrier still has oil-lubed Hubs´ You just look Fµr oil
halF-wa¶ up in tHe sight glass.
IF your carrier uses grease in the hubs, tho, looking at that sight glass may
not tell you iF there's enough grease in the hub· And, your LO says the hubs
are ¸illed with grease every 75 hours, 750 miles or quarterly.
l
So, do you t¹ke a chance there's
4
enough grease in a hub and let it go unº
til the scheduled lubrication is due? No,
you don't.
Any time you believe grease is need»
ed, you add it. You might ¼el the hub
and notice it's getting warmer than
usual, or you might hear an odd sqUeak
that you didn't hear be½re¾ Either way,
pu¿p grease into the Àub until it comes
out the pressure relieF valve.
Áhat way, you've done your PMCS,
and yo know your carrier has the lube.
