Reset Procedures
Got a "no charge± reading on the BAT-GEN indicator on your Mll3²series
carrier, M 109²series howitzer or tacticaL vehicLe? Check to see if you've got a
³eece´NeviµLe Modeµ 5027RE reguµator.
If you do, it's got a surge protector in it and it can be reset. Here's what
you (and maybe your mech) have to do:

Shut oF the engine and then restart it. If the gage reaDs in the green, the
circuit has reset itseLf and you 're OK to go.

If there's stiµµ no ¶harge, you mechs go to work to remove the screw pµug
and ·´ring seaL in the reguµator cover to get at the adjustment knob.

Use a smaµµ crosstip screwdriver to
gent¸y ¹rn the knob cLºkwise to the stop.

Then, turn the knob countercLock»
wise about 1/4 turn.

Start the engine and check the bat¼
tery charge rate with a muLtimeter. If it's
charging, set the reguLator to the proper
charge rate your vehicLe's TM speci½ies.
¾Ifthere's no charge, troubLeshoot the charging system according to the ve¿
hicLe's TM and ÀA Pam 750´33.
Other reguLators with high voLÁge protection devices, incLuding ÀC ELÂcÃ
tronics ModeL 2644001Ä6 and somÅ
Æ
of Modeµ 2Ç4001Ä5, and ELectrodeLÁ
ModeL VR 10028, which'µL hit the ÈeLd soon, require no adjustment. They reÉet
automaticaLLy at restart unµÊss something is wrong with the charging system Ëhat
wiLL require trouÌLeshooting.
