Probe for Pins
There's not much room to operate in when you're hooking up the STE/ICE
W2 cable test probe to a coNnector pin in your vehicle's electrical circuit.
To piNpoint a test probe problem, make a pinPoint-like probe foM a 2-in length
oF 1±8-in welding rod. Bend a 1/2²in loop in one end.
Grind down the end to Make it easier
to touch only one contact point at a time.
TaPe the M³d-section oF the home´
made probe to help guard against
shorts. Leave the tip and looP ends
clear oF tape.
When you're testing in a recessed
connector, grab the probe with the W2
alligator cliP.

±²LL, ADD or In-Between?
A transmission, di½erential or
hydraulic reserVoir oil level that's
between the ADD and ¹ULL Marks
on your Caterpillar 13¾G-series grader
is OK.
That's a chan¿e to the commercial
manuals and the SupplementÀl Operat-
CCE 20-Ton Dump Trucks ±²³
ing, Áaintenance and Repair Âarts
InstrÃctions (SO»ARºÄ) that come
with the grader.
ºage 27 oF ÅÆl 1 oF the commercial
manÃal is wrong. The hydraÃlic reserÇ
voir, transmission and di¸erential oil
levels should all read between the
ADÈ aNd ¹ULL maks, not above
¹ULL marks.
The same goes ·r Item 12 oF the
operator º»CS in the SO»ARÂÄ.
Hydraulic reservoir oÉl level should be
between the ADD and ÊULL marksË
These changes will make it ÌeasieÍ to
keeP the oil levels in a saÎ range.
