When you're checking the lube level
in your gear cases-diFerentials´ transµ
fEr´ manual transmission and the like´
do it right:

Park yo¶r vehicle on a level area.
If
you've
been
operating
your
equipment´ wait ·ve M¸Nutes be¹re yoU
take oUt the gear case ·ll/check plug.
Heat expanDs the oil´ so you neeD to
let it cool anD settle down to normal.

Check the lube levelº »or most gear
cases´ it's OK if the lube level's within
1¼2 inch of the bottom of the ·ll/ check
holeº But chec½ your LO anD ¾¿ to
see if a DiÀÁÂrent level is speci·eDº
¿easure the leveà by putting your
little ·nger in the hole and benDing the
·rst joÄnt downº If you can touch the
oil´ the ÃevÂl's Oź

Pump slow and easy. Then wait a
couple of minutes be¹re replacing
