You won't ´iNd any mention oF lube
in LO 9-2350-253 12, so don't lube
the chute.

There
is
a good reason why you
don't use oil. Just below the chute µis the
commander's laser range¶inder (LR·)¸
The oil you squirt oN the ammo
chute d¹Ips or ruNs oNto the LR· aNd
ruins the seals aNd gaskets. WheN the
seals aNd gaskets go bad, your LR· is
out fr the count.

Gunners, keep your ºngers (and screwdrivers) o´F the pulse frming network
(P·») adjustmeNt oN your A3's electron¼cs unit.
»o matte¹ what aNybody tells you, you won't get a better downraNge laser
beam iF you try to adjust the P·» with
a screwdriver. All you'll do is screw up
the worKs. ½he uNit aNd the ¹ecEIve¹/
transmitter are adjusted to operate as a
matched set.
DS has the tools and the kNow±how
to make any necessary adjustmeNts.

rangeºnder is on the bliNk because oF
a lazy beam, get your support uNit on

Here's how you mechanics¿can cut down on the number oF Àozen torsion bars
and anchors you have to remove. »o more cutting torch and sledgehammer!
Befre you install a torsion bar, apply corrosion preventive compound to the
splined surÁce o the torsion bar anchor. »S» 8030-Ã0-244±Ä293 gets a quart
and »S» 8030±Å±2Æı2345 gets a gallon.

Çeep the eyebolt used to pull the
maiN gun b¹eechblock in Its place,
crews aNd mechs. The eyebolt does
not belong in the threaded hole iN the
guNNE¹'s guard assemblÈ.
¾F it's put the¹e, the Éolt can bend or
break the link between the ballistics
d¹Ive and the commaNder's raNgeºnder
when the main guN is depressed.
TheÊe are oNËy two locations fr the
eyeboltÌeitÍer screwed INto the breech-

block fr its ¹emoval or installatIon, or
in the guN tool roll.

lube on the outside surÁce oF the
anchor just befre you install it in the
roadwheel
housing.

torsion bar, it'll come out slick as
