Get out a ruler and measure how fr
the piston is extended³ IF it's
3 1/2
inches Or mOre, it's time to remove a
track block, nOt ´x an adjuster.

µt's like this: There's a weep ho¶e in
the piston that's expoSed when the
piston travels tO its maximum extension
OF
3 3/4
inches. Grease will weep out
any time that hole is expOsed²
¸ince the adjuster piston moves in
aNd Out during operation, the hOle will
be exposed o¹en once the piston is out
to
3 1±2
inches Or moreº

track block when the adjuster pistOn is

grease arOund the piston. When you
see grease, it's time to pull a block²

the adjuster hasn't reached

Transmission Dipstick Reading
There's a new

BradleY or MLR¸. µt has a gOld-colOred hand¶e and has markings On bOtH siDesÀ
¼ne's ½r a cold check, and the other's Ár a hot check²
»Ou use the Âcold'_' side Only to make sure it's saà to craÄk uP the engine
aFter an Oil change Or beÁre trOubleshOOting ½r Oil leaks²
The "Hot± side is ½r the ÅMC¸ a¹erÆOperatiOn Oil level check. µt's dOne twO
minutes aFter shutdOwn²
The new procedures will show uP in updates tO ÇM

µn the meantime, use the instrUctions tHat come with the
new dipstick²

bad lenses in the eyepiece.
