Water can get inside the line-of-sight eLectronics unit on your

tank and
cause erratic operaTion or a runaway turreT.

Fom the housing. Vibr±ation during operation or prying The unit ouT
of its rack can let the water in. Water
Short circuits elecTronics and causes a
loss of conTrol.
²here'S soMe improveMent on the
way ³r new units, but the one in your
tank needs your help. Eyeball the Font
panel ³r separation Fom the housing.
If there'S any separaTion, remove the
unit and send it to D´ ³r repair.
Once
you
get anoTher unit,
take
care noT to separate the paneL FoM Thµ
housing when you insTalL or remove it.
Changes to ²¶ 9·2350-255-20-2-3-3
wiLl require tHe other electronics uniTs
in the rack to be removed be³re The line-of-sight unit.

Vibration is caUsing loose screws. ²his could lead to Ãn ÃilUre and possible
engine per³rmance Loss becaUse of a clogged precleaner or VÅpacks.
²he solution is longer screws and locknUTsÆbeing distribuTed aS a KiT bÇ
maTeriel ºelding teams.
²he kÈts wiLl get to yoU sooner or later, bUT if your tanK iS out now because
of Ãn Ãilure, here's what you need:

N´N 5305É00-978-9383 gets the new screw ³r the Ãn end of the
driveshaft. You need two of These 1 3/4-in screwS.

N´N 5305-00·978-9382 gets The 1 1/2-in screw ³r the oTher end oÊ
the shafT. You need two of theSe also.

Install the screws and TorqUe to 95·105 lb-in. ²hen install The lockÍuts and
toÎque Them to 72 lb-in.
If you don't have a Ãilure between now and the next scheduled annual serÏ
vice, leave well enoUgh alone. At the annual, just check The driveShaÄ ³r locÐnuts.
