FRH Is Safe to Use
The good news is, Fire Resis-
tant Hydraulic Fluid MIL±H±
461708 (FRH) is safe to use when
proper personal protective mea-
sures are taken.
Warning labels on cans of FRH
and, soon, on cans of MIL±H±6²³3
(OHT) are required by OSHA be´
cause of the potential inpurityµ
ortho isomer of tricresyl phos¶
phate (TCP)·which might be pre-
sent in less than trace amounts¸
Therefore, FRH is safe to use
wi¹h proper protection equip-
mentºgloves, clothing, etc.»and
good hygiene practices to prevent
iNhalation, ingestion, or contact
with the skin.

on a weapon¸ Then immediately
pull PMCS.

when we said that both the M19³
howitzer and its prime mover
would be without brakes if Óhe
brake hose on the gun were pinch-
ed and leaked¸ Just the howitzer
would be brakeless, since the
line is a hydraulic Àine, not an air

towing an M19³ and make sure
you've got enough air pressure
(at least 65 PSI) in the prime
mover to release tÔe gun's brakes
any time you're in motion¸
