The hydRulic se±icing unIt for bleeding lines on the ChaparRl
system has an unp²otected p²essure gage that's easily b²oken
durIng field trips.
The gage gets stepped on o² things are d²opped on it³ The
gage glass b²eaks and the gage gets thrown out of calib²ation´
µt's a DS job to replace it-if a gage is in stock´
Maintenance types can p¶tect the gage by cutting out a ¶und
piece of sheet metal sLightly larger than the gage's face´ When
the gage is not in use· lo¸k the metal cover on the gage's top
by wRpping wi²e ove² the cove² and unde² the gage³
Or you could take a wire mesh and w²ap it ove² the gage face³
Fasten the mesh with a clamp´
O² find a plastIc top to fIt-l¹ke those on potato chip o²
catfood cans´ Tape it on³
