a diesel or Multifuel engine too long.
These engines "slobbeR± unbu²ed
Fel, oil and moistuRe ³om condensa-
tion all around the exhaust mani´ld
aµter about 5 minutes oµ sLow idle¶
Some Drivers mistake slobbeR ´r a
Class I·I oil leak or busted head gasket
and deadline their trucks¶ W¸ong!
SmalL bubbles, seepage oR a hissing
sound ¹AY mean the gasket is bad,
or a cylindeR head is loose¶ But chances
are it's only slobber¶
Engine slobber is like a ºver»it¼s
a symptom, not a disease¶ ·t¼s your
engine's way oµ saying, "½ove out!±
oR, "Speed up the idle so · can warm
up to noRmal opeRa¾ing temperatURes¶¿
The multifuel engines on

engines¶ Both slobbeR like a mad dog
dUring long idles on days with high
hUmidity and low temperatUres¶ They
should neveR be idled µOr more than

minutes¶
·t¼s easy to tell the diÁerence be-
tween slobbeR and a seRious oil leak¶
SlobbeR will go away but an oil leak
won¼t¶
ENgine slobber will stop when the
engine warms up¶ ·ncrease the idle
speed to

wheRe tHe exhaUst pipe meets the en-

tHe tRUck out on the Road µOR a

a leak¶ Èn the otHer Hand, iµ the engine
is Running rough, misµiRing, or there is

oiL or coolant RUnning down the engine,
you pRobably have a head gasket leakÇ
PaRk your truck and call a mechanic¶
