to be totally sure your ML 13A2-series
vehicle has no exhaust leaks that woU±d
make it Not Mission Capable (NMC).
Item 60 in Change 3 to TM 9-2350²
26³-10 says that an AZ-series vehicle
is NMC only if the exhaust system is
damaged or a´y parµ is missing, mis¶
aligneD or insecurely mounted·
Ignore carbon deposits on A2
seR±es vehicle exhaust systems
¸t also points out that carbon particles
at joints a´D clamps are normal Fr the
vehicles.
In addition to ¸tem 60, you m¹st also
consider ¸tems 4º and º6 in Change 2
to the TM· They say that your vehicle
is N»C if the power plant access
panels will not seal· That means you

panels, loose or missi´g latches and
broKen, brittle, cracked or misshaped
seals·
The access cover seals provide sa¼ty
against carbon monoxide poisoning·
As long as the covers and seals are
installed right, no exhaust gases will
escape the engine compartment into the
crew compartment·
Never operate a carrier with missing
engine compartment access covers and
seals unless it's during a mainte´a´ce
