f your Apache's Fre control computer
(±CC) goes down, don't panic. It could
be noth²ng worse than a bad battery.
Be sure to pull the battery and test
it be³re you replace the ±CC.
±ollow the procedures in Task
3-4-3
of TM

to remove the
battery.

Then use a multimeter to measure
the battery voltage while loading the
battery w²th a
75
ohms
² ±
percent,

watt resistor.
If the voltage is
3.8
volts or above,
the battery's OK and you know some-
thing's gone haywire ²n the ±CC.
But ²f the voltage is below
3µ 8
volts,
tuR the battery ²nto D´MO and re-
place ²t w²th a good one.
If you have to replace an ±CC battery

²ts retirement interVal of

months, report ²t to Missile Command
by telephone, µUTO¶ON

MICOM needs the date of manuf·c¸
ture,
the f·ilure date and the serial
number of the bum battery in order to
perform an engineer²ng analys²s.
Use extra care when you take de¹c-
t²ve or damaged batteries to D´MO
because the cells conta²n mercury. DO
NOT seal the batter²es in gasºt²ght
plastic bags, drums or any nonºvented
container.
